About Me

My name is Michał Olszański. I was born in Zamość and raised in Kędzierzyn-Koźle — two places of entirely different energy, both of which shaped my sensibility and the way I see the world.

I am drawn to dark, symbolic, and unsettling aesthetics. My inspirations include artists such as Zdzisław Beksiński and Jarosław Jaśnikowski — creators who transport the viewer to a world balanced between dream and reality, beauty and unease.

My journey with painting began long ago — one could say it matured within me over the years. Yet it was not until 2025 that I created my first original collection of works, giving this passion a more conscious and deliberate direction.

I create intuitively. I always carry an intended vision in my mind, yet I allow myself a measure of chaos — for it is often within that chaos that something most authentic is born. This approach closely mirrors my view of life: the plan is important, but unpredictability is what gives it character.

I began with oil paints, but the discovery of acrylics entirely transformed my working process. Their dynamism, intensity, and scope for experimentation made acrylic my primary medium — fast, resolute, and uncompromising, just like the emotions I strive to capture on canvas.
